Multiple attackers vs lifelink blocker

Asked by TheDwarvenAxe 7 years ago

Hello everybody, back again with another rookie question.

I was playing with a friend of mine and we faced this situation:

Its his turn and I have 1 life left

He attacks me with two 2/2 creatures

I block one with a 2/2 lifelink creature (meaning its a 1/1 thats bestowed by Hopeful Eidolon )

Does the blocking creature do its damage, healing me for two and then I take two to the face. Going back to one.

Or do I take the damage before lifelink resolves and die?

Thanks in advance

Actually neither. All combat damage is dealt simultaneously. Lifelink is a static ability that changes the result of damage so that damage dealt also heals you. This means that you lose two life and gain 2 life simultaneously. You will remain at 1 life and survive.

Now this changes if one or more creatures has first strike or double strike, since they do combat damage before other creatures.
