Mind games

Asked by luisserpa 9 years ago

Hello guys. I have a question about the effect of Mind Games .For example: I have a forest and tap it to play Llanowar Elves , but the other player use Mind Games to tap my land. Now, what happens to Llanowar Elves ? Does it go to the cemetery or it stays in hand?

The other player cannot do that, you cannot respond by the action of someone tapping a land for mana, it's not an ability that goes on the stack .

Hum ok, so what he has to do is, before I tap the land, he taps it?

Sorry my english isn't great. What i meant is that your enemy Can't cast mind games to tap your land. Firstly you have already tapped your land for mana, Secondly; tapping a land for mana isn't an ability that goes on the stack which results in him(your enemy) being unable to respond to it by casting Mind Games . So your Llanowar Elves is put onto the battlefield as normal.

Ok, thanks for the help, but I still have one question. He can only tap my land before I tap it to generate mana?

Yes that is true. But if he casts a spell that taps a one of your land, for example Fire/Ice (ice), you can respond to that spell by tapping the land for mana.

He can tap it during upkeep, and you can tap it for G in response, but that goes away at the end of the phase, meaning you can't use it after upkeep, that would pretty much be the only way to stop you from using that forest for a turn.

If he casts Mind Games to tap your Forest during your main phases or combat phase, you could always tap your Forest in response, and gain G mana. Keep in mind that mana abilities don't use the stack, and can't be responded to.
