Kicking Josu with Inspireing Staturary

Would like to know how kicking Josu Vess, Lich Knight (2BB, kicker 5B, 4/5 menace, legendary zombie knight, etb if kicked get 8 2/2 zombie knights with menace) would interact with Inspiring Statuary giving it improvise. Obviously you could reduce it by 2 but could you tap 7 random servo's or whatever to cast it for three black.

2/9/2017 - When calculating a spells total cost, include any alternative costs, additional costs, or anything else that increases or reduces the cost to cast the spell. Improvise applies after the total cost is calculated.
In other words, yes it works.

Yes, that works. Improvise isn't restricted to the spell's base mana cost. It can be used to help pay for any part of a spell's cost that requires a mana payment. Kicker is an optional additional cost for casting the spell.
