Is it possible to use regeneration like this?

I was wondering if this would work.
If I sacrifice Lotleth Troll using Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord's ability, could I regenerate him immediately after? Or would this only work in a scenario where Lotleth Troll is dealt damage? Also, if it does work, would the counters he has gathered remain on him after regeneration?

Regeneration does not help with sacrifice. It only prevents "destroy" effects, which includes destruction from lethal damage. It has no interaction with sacrificing, the Legend rule, having 0 toughness, or anything else that isn't a "destroy" effect (remembering that lethal damage is a destroy effect).
Also, you don't regenerate a creature after it dies. You activate the ability to regenerate it before it dies, and then the next time it would die from being destroyed it regenerates instead.
