Is Fellwar Stone/Star Compass affected by Contamination?

Would the stone or compass be capable of producing non-black mana if a Contamination is on the battlefield? I was told that despite a contamination effect these cards could still produce the mana of the original color despite Contamination's effect.

From Gatherer for Contamination:
10/4/2004 External effects that generate more mana still generate their additional mana as directed without being affected by this card. Effects which generate more mana based on what type of mana the land produces will be affected in color but not in amount.
Your artifacts which generate mana based on what lands can produce will generate

From Fellwar Stone's rulings on Gatherling:
"When determining what colors of mana your opponents lands could produce, take into account any applicable replacement effects that would apply to those lands mana abilities (such as Contaminations effect, for example). If there is more than one, consider them in any possible order."
