Is exquisite blood and sanguine bond really an infinite combo?

Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond seems to be an infinite combo. supposing you can do just 1 damage to an opponent or gain 1 life, you'll continuously trigger each effect in succession. Ex: I gain one life so you lost a life, because you lost a life I gain a life, and because I gained another life you lose another life. Infinitely. Is that true?

Yes, it works exactly as you described. At least in the Commander format, it's a quite common combo.

I use it in a 60 card deck that plays Skullclamp and Sol Ring so I'm not worried about the sets legality. It's the deck I grab when someone else starts getting a big head
