Is "Creature-Creature Legend" the same thing as "Legendary Creature"?

I'm new to commander and I'm trying to fill in the blanks. I have creatures that have the type "Legendary Creature ( Borborygmos ). Then, I have older cards with the sub type Creature Legend ( Aboshan, Cephalid Emperor ). Can Aboshan be used as a Commander or is this format for Modern printed cards. Thanks.

Yes, older cards used the subtype Legend, this has since been errata'd so they are Legendary Creatures, and if reprinted, will say so. If you look them up in the Gatherer it outright lists them as Legendary Creatures.
