Does the legendary rule apply to Legendary Lands also such as Inventors' Fair

Yes. If a player controls two or more legendary permanents with the same English name, that player chooses one then puts the rest into their owners' graveyards as a State Based Action. This happens before any player receives priority and cannot be responded to. This also does not count as destruction or sacrificing of those permanents.

Inventors' Fair also has a nifty built in self sacrifice ability you can use before playing a second one, to keep it from being a dead draw. Geier Reach Sanitarium however does not.

The legendary rule is about legendary permanents, so of course it does...
