Infinite Combo?

Asked by apasa292 7 years ago

Chimeric Mass, Salvaging Station, Genesis Chamber, Blasting Station, Ashnod's Altar, Carnival of Souls, Anointer Priest, Infinite damage, creatures and... land?

Note that when you return Chimeric Mass to the battlefield with Salvaging Station you won't be able to pay any alternate costs.

He will enter play as a 0/0 and be destroyed as a state-based action. So you would need Chimeric Mass, Salvaging Station, and Genesis Chamber to hit the "infinite creatures" part of the combo, then the other cards will work as you described.

If I am understanding this correctly, you want to use Salvaging Station to infinitely bring back Chimeric Mass, and then turn it into a 0/0 hoping to make infinite tokens and life using Anointer Priest and either Ashnod's Altar and/or Carnival of Souls?

If I understand correctly, since the Chimeric Mass doesn't "come into play" (You can make it one but those are not the same thing) as a creature, it will not trigger your Genesis Chamber, and thus not give you the tokens. This means that Blasting Station won't work either and the combo does not in fact work.

A combo that WOULD work would skip all these pieces and just play Chimeric Mass, Salvaging Station, Ashnod's Altar, and Altar of the Brood.

Except even in that last step of Sargeras' combo you never have a creature to sacrifice to Ashnod's Altar, unless you add a way to boost the Chimeric Mass' toughness like with Tempered Steel.

The intent was to use Chimeric Mass and turn it into a creature, and sacrifice it, with Ashnod's Altar or Blasting Station, killing the Chimeric Mass, then using Salvaging Station to return it to the battlefield. Perhaps I could use a hex parasite and a Butcher Ghoul and Hex Parasite to replace Chimeric Mass and Salvaging Station and trigger the other effects.

Butcher Ghoul would trigger Genesis Chamber, and Carnival of Souls, and Blasting Station, sacrifice Butcher Ghoul w/ Ashnod's Altar, and remove the +1/+1 counter from Butcher Ghoul w/ Hex Parasite. Then sacrifice a myr token w/ Blasting Station... the Anointer Priest would trigger with the myr tokens countering the life loss from Carnival of Souls... ?

Then throw in an Altar of the Brood for good measure...

I think that would work.

You don't need Ashnod's Altar by my calculation.

Butcher Ghoul enters, triggering Genesis Chamber, Carnival of Souls, and Blasting Station. After you let those three abilities resolve a myr enters the battlefield triggering both Carnival of Souls and Blasting Station, so you can sacrifice the Pest to the Blasting Station to take advantage of the untap trigger, or keep a 1/1 myr around for fun.

You now have in your mana pool and an untapped Blasting Station. You lost 2 life, but gained 1 back if you also have Anointer Priest, or you gained 2 back if you instead have Soul Warden. You also either gained a 1/1 myr or dealt 1 damage to a creature or player.

Next you sacrifice the Butcher Ghoul to the Blasting Station, triggering it's undying ability. It returns, triggering everything in the first section, except with an instance of "deal 1 damage to target creature or player" on the bottom of the stack. You spend the you had floating to remove the +1/+1 counter using Hex Parasite's ability. Each time through the loop at this point will deal 1-2 damage (depending on whether you keep the myr) and lose you 2 life. You'll gain 1 life per Anointer Priest or 2 life per Soul Warden, to help counteract that life loss.

Cards needed: Butcher Ghoul, Hex Parasite, Blasting Station, Carnival of Souls, Genesis Chamber.

Cards that can mitigate the life loss, so you don't lose first: Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, Anointer Priest, Suture Priest.

Or, with enough of the life gain options, you could replace both Genesis Chamber and Carnival of Souls with Ashnod's Altar and pay and 2 life to remove the counter from Butcher Ghoul, alternating sacrificing it to Ashnod's Altar and Blasting Station to provide enough mana to keep it up. You'd only need 2 Soul Warden style triggers.
