Infect/Proliferate Commander

Hi, recently made a 60 card deck centered around Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons and it got me thinking about how cool the mechanic proliferate is, especially when paired with infect. I want to bring this into EDH and I was wondering what the best commander is for something with infect or proliferate.

You might try the Commander Deck Help forums rather than the Rules Q&A forums, but what I can offer is that infect/proliferate wants to run green/blue/black, which doesn't have any commanders that synergize particularly well (The Mimeoplasm and Vorosh, the Hunter at least use counters, though the wrong kind). Alternatively, good commanders would be Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons, Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon, or The Scorpion God, but none of them will give you access to all the colors you want. It's about give and take and what aspects of the deck are most important to you.

Saskia the Unyielding is quite the infect commander. It is also one of the few that can actually kill the players with infect, as opposed to killing one and running out of gas. You can build it really aggresive and to combine a Glistener Elf with a Giant Growth and Might of Old Krosa etc. or go a more resilient route by dealing a few infect points and proliferating them to death, while keeping the board clean of threats to you.
Alternatively Atraxa, Praetors' Voice is a great proliferate commander as well, and gives options to superfriends (planeswalker) decks as well as infect, or counter matter cards.
Commanders like Rafiq of the Many or The Mimeoplasm are viable options as well, but offer different playstyles as the above.

If you are new to EDH, you should know that infect decks get heavily targeted in multiplayer pods.

I think we are all forgetting the best proliferate commander out there, Atraxa, Praetors' Voice. Everyone always plays her in "super friends" style decks, which has bumped her price tag up a bit, but anything that deals with counters is good for her, especially poison, +1/+1 or -1/-1 counters. I personally liked an idea I saw using her on Star City Games website. It was abusing spore counters and fungus creatures.

Personally Im a fan of Marchesa, the Black Rose. Her +1 counters synergize well with proliferate, and help bolster otherwise small bodied infecters. And since infect does not deal damage, it makes her dethrone trigger more reliable.

I recently planned one for my precon-series:

It's focussed around -1/-1, +1/+1, infect and proliferate - Wanted to play Sultai so i picked Damia, Sage of Stone, but The Mimeoplasm had been my second choice.

Alright, thanks for all your help guys. Also I just found the combo of Borborygmos Enraged and giving it infect with Grafted Exoskeleton. Discard four lands per player to win.
