Indestructible and hexproof

Asked by Paikuhan 3 years ago

If I get attacked by a creature that has indestructible and I defend with a creature that has hexproof what happens? Let's just say it's a Dreadwurm that has had a landfall trigger attacking and I defend with an Arashi, the Sky Asunder with a Blossoming Defense

Hexproof and indestructible don't interact with each other.

Indestructible plays a role in combat since damage is dealt during combat and indestructible prevents a creature that has otherwise been dealt an amount of damage that would cause it to die (lethal damage) from its fate of going to the grave.

Hexproof just means the creature that has is can't be tergeted by the opponent. Damage dealt in combat by opponent's creatures is dealt normally. Hexproof is irrelevant for combat itself, only becomes somewhat relevant in case the opponent wants to cast removal on that creature, but they can't.

In your example both creature get to survive the combat.
