How much information can you record from Thoughtseize?

Asked by TheAnnihilator 9 years ago

The card in question is Thoughtseize , for those of you who may not know of it. I'm the kind of guy who writes down an opponent's hand after a reveal affect. But, for example, say I were to see an unfamiliar card in someone's hand... Can I write down the card text too? Likewise, can I look up the card on the internet (the Gatherer, etc.) during the match, or would that be against the rules?

You could copy down the entire text including a description of the art if you wanted to, provided you didn't do so in a way that constituted slow play.

At Competitive REL you can't use electronic devices to record notes, but at all levels of REL you can take physical notes on paper, provided the match starts with a blank sheet of paper with no information.

You can also refer to Oracle text including through something like Gatherer, at any time, provided they do so publicly and in a format that only communicates that oracle information and no other information (So basically, use Gatherer)
