How does Kill Shot work?

Asked by bennybubbles 9 years ago

This question has two parts.

  1. If my opponent swings at me with a Zurgo Helmsmasher while I have 3 life and no creatures to block, if I cast Kill Shot does it destroy the Zurgo before it deals damage to me or after. Also, does it work the same way with something like AEtherspouts

  2. Also, if I swung at an opponent with a 12/12 Ob Nixilis, Unshackled and they cast Deflecting Palm , can I cast Kill Shot on my creature and destroy it before Deflecting Palm resolves. I'm assuming I can because of the way that the stack works but I just want clarification

  1. Kill Shot would not destroy Zurgo Helmsmasher because Zurgo is indestructible on your opponents turn. However AEtherspouts works fine.

  2. You could Kill Shot any time before damage is dealt and Deflecting Palm wouldn't redirect the damage because no damage is dealt.

Right I forgot about its indestructible, I meant just a creature in general, I chose Zurgo because it was the card that I was looking at at the time. What I meant was, does Kill Shot or AEtherspouts resolve before the attacking creature deals damage or after?

As long as you cast them before damage step then damage does not happen.
