How does infect affect planeswalkers?

I have a deck built around the mechanic infect. I often wonder how it would deal damage to planeswalkers, or if it would just deal it normally. Thank you.

Just normally.
As an example, the rulings section on Necropede (on Gatherer) explicitly notes "Damage from a source with infect affects planeswalkers normally."
