How do multiple replacement effects resolve when controlled by different players?

Asked by chrizzilla 9 years ago

Say I have a Wheel of Sun and Moon on myself, and my opponent casts a Rest in Peace . Where do my cards go when they would go to the graveyard?

If I understand rules correctly, they are exiled because his abilities go on the stack last, correct?

What if my opponent has the Rest in Peace out and then I cast the Wheel of Sun and Moon ? Would they be exiled as well?

First, replacement effects don't use the stack, and they don't resolve. It would be mechanically impossible for them to do so.

When multiple replacement effects would apply to an event, the affected player determines the order in which they are applied. If, after a replacement effect is applied, the others could no longer apply, they don't.

In this case, you are the affected player. You choose whether to apply Wheel of Sun and Moon 's effect first or Rest in Peace 's effect first. Applying one makes the other irrelevant.
