Helm of the host + sasaya, orochi ascendent

Asked by Nabuseri 5 years ago

How does this work with sasaya being a flip mechanic?

Please link all cards in your question using double brackets.

Helm of the Host

Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant

I'm not sure what you are asking because there are a few different interactions.

  • If you are asking about what happens to equipment attached to a permanent when that permanent changes type, the equipment falls off as a state-based action due to being attached to an illegal object.

  • If you are asking about copying a flip card, the copy still has the flip ability and can turn into the flipped version of the card since it is all on the same face of the card.

You can equip an equipment on a creature only as long as it is a creature.

That equipment falls off as soon as it is no longer a creature.

A token copy of a flip card still is that flip card in its entirety, with all abilities. And the token enters as the non flipped version of that flip card.

So if you have that helm on sasaya, then it will create an unflipped sasaya token with the flip ability.

If you have that helm on sasaya's essence due to some effect making it a creature, then it creates a sasaya token in the non flipped form with the flip ability.

Hope this explains it clearly.
