Hardened Scales combo?????

Is Pir, Imaginative Rascal + Hardened Scales an infinte +1/+1 counter combo? I think it doesn't work but I wanted to be sure. Thanks so much:)

No. Both are replacement effects, and both can only be applied once, and do not apply again to the same event.
