Hall of Gemstone vs Liliana of the Dark Realms

I had Hall of Gemstone out, then my opponent got Liliana of the dark realm's emblem out. Do his swamps always produce 4 black mana or do they produce 4 of another color if thats what he chooses that round?

Hall of Gemstone will allow the player to choose a color, and Swamps that player controls will add 4 mana of that color to their mana pool.

The only exception to that is in Commander format, where no player may add mana outside their commander's color identity to their mana pool. They can happily choose white when their commander is black and blue, but all they get from their lands will be colorless mana that turn.

Note that they don't "always" produce four mana - the original ability to tap for 1 mana is still a possible use.
