Gods Willing and Enchantments

Asked by FearenRehnet 9 years ago

Does Protection from Gods Willing affect the enchantments that you placed on your own creature? Let's say Battlewise Hoplite is enchanted by Ethereal Armor the gains protection from white due to Gods Willing

Yes it would be affected and would therefore be destroyed. If you chose a color other than white when you had Ethereal Armor on then you would be fine.

@TyrannosaryMind that the enchantment won't be "destroyed." It mere falls off the creature and is placed in the graveyard, due to the creature no longer being a valid permanent for it to be attached to.

It is pretty much a technical difference but it would make a difference, if there was a triggered ability or an effect that depends on an enchantment/permanent being destroyed.

@billpasdmf: Or, more practically, if an Aura was made indestructible. Then it couldn't be "destroyed" but would still get put into the grave if it falls off a creature.
