Genesis Wave into Eternal Witness + Something Ineligible

Asked by SteelNinja 9 years ago

Say I cast Genesis Wave w/ X=3 and I flip two Eternal Witnesses and a Tooth and Nail.

Now, I know I can use one Witness to grab my Wave out of the 'yard, but can I have the other Witness grab the Tooth and Nail?

Only when a spell has finished resolving can triggered abilities go on the stack. That means that both spells will be in the grave when EWitness's ability requires you to choose a target and are thus viable targets for it.

Tl;dr: Yes.

Yes. The Genesis Wave resolves completely first, putting the two Eternal Witnesses into play, and the Tooth and Nail and Wave go to the graveyard. Then, the triggered ability of the Witnesses is put on the stack, and both the Genesis Wave and the Tooth and Nail are eligible targets.
