Free-for-all and controlling permanents?

Asked by UpperDeckerTaco 10 years ago

I like to run control a lot. But for instance, I like to run some blue control permanent or creature spells... Mind Control , Control Magic , Treachery , Blatant Thievery , Confiscate ....... Now let's say it's a free-for-all and one of the players dies and it so happens I have some of his permanents using some of the said cards above...does this mean I lose those permanents because that player left the game or what?

When a player leaves the game (whether by losing or forfeit), all cards owned by that player leave the game as well.

Even if you control them? Damn that sucks.

102.6a When a player leaves the game, all objects owned by that player leave the game and any change-of-control effects which give that player control of any objects end. Then, if there are any objects still controlled by that player, those objects leave the game. This is not a state-based effect it happens as soon as the player leaves the game.
