Flickering Brisela?
Asked by Ej1997 7 years ago
Ok so the Internet has failed me and keeps click baiting me to stuff I don't want. What happens if I flicker melded brisela? Does it come back whole or in two pieces or not at all?
DFCs always enter the battlefield "day" side up. If you flicker Brisela it returns as the other side of that card.

712.4. If a melded permanent leaves the battlefield, one permanent leaves the battlefield and two cards are put into the appropriate zone.
This is from the comprehensive rules of Magic. When the exiled creature returns to the battlefield it will be the two creatures in their default state, not the single melded creature.

I'd also like to point out the Meld cards are not considered DFC's:
712.1b A meld card isnt a double-faced card. It cant transform or enter the battlefield transformed. (See rule 711, "Double-Faced Cards.")
DFC's have a separate set of rules and interactions.

Both pieces would come back un-melded.
