exile and ensoul artifact

If I cast Gild targeting Darksteel Citadel that has Ensoul Artifact on it can I actually target the land or is it an "illegal" play

Darksteel Citadel is a creature when Ensoul Artifact is on it, so yes, it is a legal play.

and since indestructible doesn't prevent exiling, it will also be successfully exiled.
