Does the flashback cost change the colour of a spell?

Asked by gheridarigaaz 11 years ago

With something like Quirion Dryad would flashing back a Memory's Journey or Deadly Allure count the spell as mono-green due to the flashback cost and not put a +1/+1 counter on it?

No, it doesn't.

202.2 An object is the color or colors of the mana symbols in its mana cost, regardless of the color of its frame.

The flashback costs are alternative costs, not the actual mana costs of the spell.

No. Alternative costs or additionnal costs (like kicker) don't change the spell's color.

A card's color is only determined by the card's mana cost, special color-defining abilities, and color indicators.

Memory's Journey is only a blue card, regardless of whether it was cast for its flashback cost. Deadly Allure is only a black card for the same reason.
