Does Suppression Field affect planeswalkers' loyalty abilities?

With Suppression Field in play, do players have to pay 
to activate the loyalty abilities of planeswalkers?
I believe the answer is yes as loyalty abilities are formatted as (cost) : (effect), just like all activated abilities, but I wanted to be sure.

Yes. Loyalty abilities are a form of activated ability. Note also that a loyalty ability by definition cannot be a mana ability, so all loyalty abilities are affected by Suppression Field.
