Does Sorin, Solemn Visitor give +1/+0 to creatures that aren't present on the field?

So, for example, lets assume I have a Brimaz, King of Oreskos on the field. I cast a Sorin, Solemn Visitor and use his +1 ability. Next, I attack with Brimaz, King of Oreskos and the tokens come into play since Brimaz is attacking. Does Sorin's +1 ability affect the tokens created, giving them +1/+0 and lifelink?

Always check the Gatherer rulings before posting a question.

9/20/2014: Only creatures you control as the first ability resolves will get the bonuses. Creatures you come to control after that happens will not.
