Does Release the Gremlins got benefit from Hazoret's Monument?

Asked by EsperHanuman 7 years ago

I wonder if Hazoret's Monument ability is benefitting for Release the Gremlins. Then we pay just to destroy 1 artifact and create 1 Gremlin token 2/2.

Thanks

You are almost right,

Hazoret's Monument would make your Release the Gremlins cost less, but you'd still have to pay an additional in addition to the since it is a double spell.(Assuming you only choose one artifact to destroy, the spell would cost ). In order to destroy any more artifacts, you'd still have to pay for each additional artifact.

Unfortunately not. Despite what Sargeras said, Hazoret's Monument only reduces creature costs, and Release the Gremlins is not a creature (despite the fact that it creates creatures).

(Also, it would still cost even if you reduce its cost by one.)

The card you're looking for (if you're playing eternal formats) is Ruby Medallion ;)

Actually, not correct at all. Hazoret's Monument specifies red CREATURE spells you cast, which requires the card to have the Creature type. Release the Gremlins does not have the Creature type and will not be affected by the Monument.

What Sargeras said would be correct if you had instead something like Baral, Chief of Compliance out.

I love how we all said almost verbatim the same thing, within two minutes of each other XD

Sargeras: I missed it the first time I looked at it too, and I was super excited to put it in Zada until I reread it :(

Thanks all for the clarification. My bad, missed the RED CREATURE part.. But yes I'm thinking the card work with some sort of Baral, Chief of Compliance thing..

Case closed..
