Does Overgrowth work the way I think it doe?

I have the card Overgrowth in one of my decks. The way I understand the text the land taps for one mana and when it does the enchantment gives me an additional 2 forest mana. Am I understanding this right?

Yes, you are correct. You tap the land for the normal mana and the land, thanks to Overgrowth, has a triggered ability that will add two green mana when the land is tapped for mana.

It is worth it to note that the triggered ability on Overgrowth is a mana ability since it triggers from a mana ability and doesn't have targets. This means that it can't be responded to and instead the mana gets added to your mana pool straight away.
