Does Merrow Reejerey's ability trigger when it enters the battlefield?

Does Merrow Reejerey 's ability count itself as a merfolk causing its ability to trigger?

To clarify further, Merrow Reejerey 's ability triggers when you cast a merfolk spell, not when a merfolk enters the battlefield. Since it isn't on the battlefield when you cast it, it won't see itself being cast and will not trigger.

It won't. Unless otherwise stated on the card, triggered abilities can only trigger when the card is a permanent on the battlefield. When you cast Merrow Reejerey , it's a spell on the stack. And of course by the time it's on the battlefield, you've already cast it.
