Does Illusionist's Bracers work with Mangara of Corondor if I flicker it.

Asked by Pheardemons 6 years ago

So lets say I have Illusionist's Bracers equipped to Mangara of Corondor on my side of the battlefield. If I tap Mangara of Corondor to use its ability, will I be able to exile two permanents?

According to Gatherer, even if Mangara of Corondor is removed from the battlefield you will still exile a creature, but does the copy ability still go through if I flicker Mangara of Corondor before both abilities resolve?

Yes, it would go onto the stack after the original activated ability and resolve first, regardless if Mangara is still in play or based on other actions remaining on the stack (unless another action targeted that ability). Likewise if you had the ability to untap Mangara after the original activation while it is still on the stack, you could use the ability again prior to that original action resolving.

In theory, if you could untap an infinite number of times, you could resolve the untap ability and add another instance of the removal ability prior to the previous removal ability's resolution, targeting every permanent of every opponent. So long as they then resolved without outside action, last to first, all opponent permanents would be exiled.

For example, let's say you have Seeker of Skybreak equipped with Illusionist's Bracers, and Mangara of Corondor available to tap. This combo would allow you to go infinite with Mangara's ability, by putting an instance of the removal ability on the stack, then tapping the Seeker to untap Mangara, then himself with the copy. Allow the untap abilities to resolve, then add another instance of the removal ability to the stack before the previous instance resolves...rinse and repeat until all opponent permanents are targeted.
