Does Heroic work in the graveyard?

As the question says, can I use a spell that targets a Heroic creature in the graveyard to activate its ability?

More specifically, I'm looking at using the upcoming M15 card "Return to the Ranks" to target a card like Akroan Crusader that might be residing in the graveyard. Would I get a token if I did this?

No. Abilities only work in the graveyard if the ability specifies it, like the M15 Soul cycle. Heroic only works on the battlefield, and nowhere else.
