Does Bioshift add counters to Simic Ascendancy?

Asked by kcom 4 years ago

So lets say I have 12 counters on various creatures and I play a Bioshift and move those counters to one creature, would that add 12 counters on Simic Ascendancy ?

It depends. If you move 12 counters from one creature you control to another creature you control, then it will.

Bioshift allows you to choose any number of counters on one target creature and move it to another target creature with the same controller. It does not allow you to remove counters from multiple creatures and place them on a single creature.

The process of moving the counters removes it from the first creature then puts it onto the second creature, so effects triggered by removing/placing counters will apply.

From the Gatherer (Bioshift): 1/24/2013: To move a counter from one creature to another, the counter is removed from the first creature and placed on the second. Any abilities that care about a counter being removed or placed on a creature will apply.

Cool. I think i had a faulty memory of the text and remembered it as multiple creatures. Anyway, thank you for the reply.
