do tokens count toward you devotion

if i have 5 black 1/1 token creatures on the battle field, do i have 5 devotion?

Devotion is defined as the total number of mana symbols of the relevant color in mana costs among permanents you control. Devotion is NOT the number of permanents you control of the relevant color.
Tokens don't have mana costs unless they're copies of other permanents. If you just have generic tokens, they have no mana costs and don't count toward devotion.

@DeathByDragons: That's not entirely accurate because you need to account for the situations in which tokens do have mana costs (i.e. when they're copies of something).

Pack Rat is a rare example of a token that has a mana cost and adds to devotion to black per copy.

No. Tokens do not have a mana cost. Devotion counts symbols in the mana costs of permanents you control.
