Do +1/+1 and -1/-1 effects happen simultaneously?

If an opponent's permanent has an effect along the lines of "non-black creatures get -1/-1" and I have Honor of the Pure on the field, do my one-drops and soldier tokens die? Or do the effects happen simultaneously, essentially resulting in +0/+0?
They all are taken into account simultaneously. White creatures will be getting a non-buff of +0/+0. Nothing dies unless it had zero toughness to begin with (e.g. Master of Waves tokens).

As well as +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters remover each other so it will have no counters on it rather than 2 counters (just thought I'd throw that tidbit in there)

They are applied simultaneously.
