Dark Impostor and replacement effects...

Asked by Shitlord_Abrigitus 6 years ago

If I have Dark Impostor on the battlefield, and use its ability to exile an opponents commander, for example, and they use a replacement effect to place it into the command zone, does Dark Impostor have its activated abilities? My confusion comes from whether exile is checked after the ability is activated, or whenever the creature hits the exile zone.

Dark Impostor only has abilities of creature cards that are currently in exile. It doesn't have abilities of creature cards in the command zone or cards that have left exile for any other reason.

Dark Impostor keeps the abilitys. Dark Impostor says that it has all activated abilitys of creatures exiled with it, not in exile because of it.

Sorry. Neotrup was right. You don't get the activated ability.
