creature tokens

Asked by LordAshaman 8 years ago

I am making a modern token deck and am wondering If I should put in Sudden Disappearance for the effects of whenever another creature enters the battlefield but would my creature token's be permanently destroyed?

If a token leaves the battlefield for whatever reason, it ceases to exist before anything can be done about it.

That is technically untrue, but is less confusing than what actually happens and has the same end result. The tokens will not come back after leaving for sudden disappearance. If you just want to know what happens instead of exactly how just stop reading here.

The actual process that happens is the tokens are exiled. Then because of 110.5g (110.5g A token that has left the battlefield cant move to another zone or come back onto the battlefield. If such a token would change zones, it remains in its current zone instead) it remains exiled instead of coming back in. The next time state-based actions are checked the token ceases to exist because of 704.5d (704.5d If a token is phased out, or is in a zone other than the battlefield, it ceases to exist).
