countering suspend

Asked by The_Kazekyo 9 years ago

If i have Search for Tomorrow suspended and when the last counter triggers can my opponent use Silence in response to the trigger ability to stop me from casting the suspended spell?

Silence used in response to anything will not counter said thing - it has already been cast. IF it was a Counterspell however, it would easily counter that spell. Just because it was cast for free or not from the hand, it can still be countered like any normal spell.

This is the exception to the rule that chant effects can't counter spells. If you cast Silence in response to the suspend trigger, before the spell is cast, then your opponent will not be able to cast the suspended card. Silence doesn't effect any spells that are currently on the stack which is a common misconception.
