Convoke (simple)

I've been told that when convoking for Stoke the Flames I can only convoke for the and still have to pay the , but playing casually the other day I was told you could convoke for all 4 mana using red creatures (including tokens).

Judging by the description, I'm guessing the latter is correct?

Convoke's reminder text states "pays for or one mana of that creature's color." You can use convoke to pay for colored or colorless costs.
