can you sacrifice an idestructible creature?

Asked by student-of-life 9 years ago

If I have Shattergang Brothers out and it is enchanted with Darksteel Mutation , I can sacrifice the creature , correct?

Yes. Indestructible only prevents a permanent from being destroyed. Sacrifice is something else entirely.

Actually, Shattergang Brothers would lose the "(2)(B), Sacrifice a creature:..." ability as an effect from Darksteel Mutation ... So, no, you couldnt sacrifice it.

Good catch. MountainMan817 is correct about the example case you gave. I was answering the question in the title, and I didn't double check the cards.

My fault. I failed to mention he was using a spell to sacrifice him. Shattergang Brothers was not being used to sacrifice himself.
