Can stealing creatures trigger evolve?

Asked by MTGJustice 9 years ago

Let's say I use Traitorous Blood to steel an opponents creature and I have a Simic Manipulator .Can the manipulator's evolve ability be triggered by this interaction?

Stolen creatures don't re-enter the battlefield, and so don't cause any "enters the battlefield" abilities to trigger.

They are on the battlefield already, they just change controller.

There's only one battlefield zone, shared by all players. The other shared zones are exile, command, stack, and ante (ante is only referenced by a few very old cards, and "playing for ante" is now considered an optional variant on the base rules). Making a creature change controllers doesn't cause it to leave or enter any zone.

Just wanted to mention Gather Specimens in case the question was for some kind of theme deck or something. Technically you're stealing a spell, not a creature, but it still kind of fits.
