Can Nighteyes the Desecrator be your commander?

Asked by Hashtag-Netdeck 8 years ago

I'm wondering the details on if Nighteyes the Desecrator can be your commander, or some obscure rule pertaining to Nezumi Graverobber? IDK. Someone please help me!

No. A card may only be your commander if it is a legendary creature by default. Nezumi Graverobber is not; it's just a regular creature in its default state.

Does this also mean that Nighteyes the Desecrator can't be your commander, though?

Nighteyes the Desecrator is the flipped version of Nezumi Graverobber; it doesn't exist anywhere but on the battlefield while Nezumi Graverobber is flipped. In all other zones, the card is just Nezumi Graverobber, which is not legendary. It cannot be your commander.

Sadly, thanks.
