Can Ardent Plea cast Research / Development?

Hi guys, I have a question.
If I play the card Ardent Plea will she cascade Research/Development in the process?

With the release of Ahmokhet they changed the rules concerning cmc of split cards so Logan89's response is wrong.
Anywhere except the stack the CMC of Research/Development is 7.
708.4. In every zone except the stack, the characteristics of a split card are those of its two halves combined.

In this case Ardent Plea will cascade the half referring to "research" from Research/Development?
Because its converted cost is only 2
