Barbed Battlegear equiped to Myr Quadropod

If i had my Myr Quadropod as the normal 1/4 and equiped it with Barbed Battlegear so it became a 5/3, Right? Now here is my confusing part, if i switched its power and toughness would it be a 3/5 or would it make it a 8/0?

Alright thanks for the quick response. Follow up question then if after I changed it to the 3/5 I equipped the Barbed Battlegear to something else would it then become a -1/6?

No. Remember, layers.
In layer 7C, your Myr Quadropod goes from 1/4 to 5/3. In layer 7E, it goes from 5/3 to 3/5.
If you remove the Barbed Battlegear from the equation, you have a 1/4 that becomes a 4/1 in layer 7E.

According to the layer system, P/T -switching effects are applied last, so your 5/3 would be a 3/5.
