Azors Electocutors vs loss of life

Does the electocutors lose filibuster counters from straight loss of life? Can you for instance use Channel to pay life with losing your filibuster counters?

Loss of life is not damage. The two are separate things, although damage often results in loss of life. Effects that care about damage do not care about loss of life. Azor's Elocutors's last ability won't trigger.
