Ass Whuppin' rules questions

Asked by Scud422 6 years ago

Before Unstable comes out, I figured I should get all my Ass Whuppin' questions answered before I Radiate it in a sidegame during the draft.
1. Do you have to see the cards in the game from your seat, or is it enough to be able to see part of the game?
2. Obviously you can't have Ass Whuppin' target something with Shroud or Protection from (W, B, sorcery, etc.). But can you target something with Hexproof? Oracle says that "this can't be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control." I don't think I count as the opponent of someone in another game.

You only have to be able to see part of the game, not the whole game. You don't have to be able to the permanent you're destroying. You do have to be able to see the game while sitting.

Yes you can target a creature with hexproof (as long as it isn't in the game you are playing) because the formal definition of an opponent is

"Someone a player is playing against. See rules 102.2 and 102.3."

102.2. In a two-player game, a players opponent is the other player.

102.3. In a multiplayer game between teams, a players teammates are the other players on his orher team, and the players opponents are all players not on his or her team.
