Any color of mana?

Asked by CheeseBro 8 years ago

I understand this is a bit of a silly question, but when a card says Add one mana of any color to your mana pool (such as Sylvan Caryatid), is it possible to add orange or purple or another color because it says any color? If so, would it be possible for somehow a Bring to Light cast 6 (maybe via Vryn Wingmare), could you converge for 6 if you used this other color of mana?

Mana in Magic: The Gathering, is only the five colors of the color wheel: White, Blue, Black, Red, and Green. No other color can be chosen, neither can multicolor, nor colorless, when an ability lets you add "one mana of any color" to your mana pool.
