Angel of condemnation rulings

Asked by Hankmc 6 years ago

I have Angel of Condemnation with Regenerate opposition plays destroy creature spell. Can I still exile a creature before angel is destroyed? Does angel leave play when its regenerated? Can the angel be regenerated? Can I exert the angel? And if so is it still exerted when it is regenerated?

To answer the questions in order:

  1. Yes you can. Both abilities have no timing restrictions and can be used at instant speed.

  2. No, when a creature is regenerated, all damage is removed from it, it's removed from combat (if it was in combat), and it's tapped.

  3. Yes it can be. Regeneration sets up a "shield" of sorts that waits until the creature would die from damage or destroy effects.

  4. You would have to exert the angel before you regenerate it. By the time it's regenerated, it's already tapped and you can't satisfy the tap cost of either ability.

  5. Yes, it would stay exerted after it's regenerated because it never left the battlefield.

Thank you the only mistake I made was not having it exerted
