Alesha bringing back defenders

So say that I use Alesha, Who Smiles at Death to bring back a Pride Guardian what would happen because defenders cannot attack?

The basic idea is that creatures with defender cannot be declared as attackers. That however, does not prevent them to be attacking. Creatures that are created (like the Brimaz, King of Oreskos tokens) or brought back from the graveyard (like in your example) as already attacking are in this weird space were they never technically were declared as attackers, they just popped into existence already in the red zone.

I can try to be more detailed if that wasn't clear.
