about upcoming interactions with escalate card Collective Defiance coming out of a Goblin Dark-Dwellers effect and Pyromancer's Goggles

so if i used Goblin Dark-Dwellers recast effect and target Collective Defiance, from my understanding you can pay the additional costs for escalate, can you use a red mana produced from Pyromancer's Goggles to 1. copy the spell since the mana is consumed to a red instant/sorcery and 2. pay for escalate using that mana

That sounds about right.

Remember that the copy has the same modes as the original, so if you only escalate once and choose the first two options, the copy will only have the first two options as well.

Yes that works. Escalate is an additional cost, so it can still be paid if you're using some alternative cost to cast the spell ("without paying its mana cost" is a type of alternative cost). Spending the mana from Pyromancer's Goggles to pay an escalate cost counts as spending it to cast the spell, so it will create a copy. Copying a spell also copies the decisions made about modes and targets, so the Goggles copy will have the same modes as the original (and Goggles' copy effect will let you change the targets if you want to).
