New trade features

The Trading Post forum

I've added some long-demanded trade features.

1) When you view your own binder, you see a list of good matches for trading

2) When you view another binder, you see the cards that match your binder

3) Your binder shows recent change history

FRIENDLY REMINDER: Be very careful who you trade with. There is always the possibility of running into a scammer. If someone is only on this website to trade, be careful! This isn't a traders website, this is a community deck building website of deck-builders who happen to sometimes trade with each other. When it doubt, only trade with your friends.

I like these :)

Are the comments suppose to be aligned all the way to the right side? or is that just my binder messing up?

I'm not seeing any matches for trading on my binder. However, I can see what I have that matches the want list of whomever's binder I am viewing.

re-save

Ok, it's working now. Nice. Thanks for the changes!

I've also noticed that 4 out of the 5 suggested trade matches I have are inactive users. The most recent activity by any of them was 4 months ago, and the rest hadn't done anything since joining practically. Is there anyway to make it so the list skips over the inactive users and only reccommends people who are relatively active? I was thinking maybe a filter to select people who have been active within the past two weeks maximum, and display the ones with the best matches out of that group, if that is possible.

doesnt show who has your wants though? i like the new set up though. I thinking having the most active list of traders like you do for the top players of the site aka decklords.

Maybe I will delete binders if they aren't saved in 45 days?

November 6, 2011 8:28 p.m.

Mpz5 says... #15

I wouldn't. I have not updated mine ever but even if I did I wouldn't necessarily do it every 45 days and I would be pretty annoyed if 2 months after I last used it, I checked my binder and it was gone.

i think it is a good idea. there are some people on this site that trade with multiple people a week like myself. And it is annoying that there is people that havent even been on this site in a year and yet they show up with my wants.

so maybe I will just expire you from matches unless you save regularly. 45 days is the cutoff.

November 6, 2011 10:38 p.m.

Mpz5 says... #18

That would work as long as if they save, it allows them to be matched again until 45 days of inactivity. Honestly in that case 30 days of inactivity would be fine IMO.

I personally think that just site activity in general should keep you matching though. Can that be done?

November 6, 2011 11:27 p.m.

metalmagic says... #19

I think that sonuds like it would work. Although site activity, like I mentioned earlier and like Mpz5 mentioned, would probably be better.

It's kind of like the whole 'A square is a rectangle, but a retangle is not a square' thing. Binder activity almost guarantees some site activity, although site activity does not guarantee activity in trading or editing one's binder. I don't think having the binders of active users who are just taking a break from trading for awhile for whatever reason hidden from the trade matches is a good idea, whereas hiding the binders of an inactive user altogether alleviates any upset users and mishaps.

Is there anyway to cycle out the just 5 people it shows? I've done looked at them, and want to move on :(

November 7, 2011 10:54 a.m.

bman5604 says... #21

and it only matches for what I have for them doesnt really show me what they have for me.

November 7, 2011 10:56 a.m.

yeaGO says... #22

View their binder and it does.

Miasma -- good idea, I will figure it out.

SO: New feature

Now you get a notification when someone has added a card that matches your binder.

Let me know how it works out--it may not be effective at FIRST. However, in a week or so you should see some notifications.

LET ME KNOW

November 8, 2011 11:26 p.m.

yeaGO says... #25

I updated it so binders expire after 30 days. Save your binder again to reactivate it and generate matches.

Save your binders again to generate fresh matches!

November 14, 2011 8:23 p.m.

bman5604 says... #26

It only shows what i have that matches their wants. Not what i want and what they have that I want. If that makes any since because i read that over like three times and i still dont think its right lol.

Wooops try again in two minutes.

November 14, 2011 10:17 p.m.

Miasma says... #28

You know what would be cool? If the site accumulated all the value of your cards in your binder, and showed you what your collection is worth. Just thought that might be nice.

Miasma says... #29

I also noticed that I would get a notification when someone posts something on my profile page, but if someone posts something on my actual trade binder page, I wouldn't get one. I was doing lots of contact on my main profile page but then I go to update my binder and realize I have a bunch of other trade requests and whatnot from a good period of time that I just didn't know was there. Do you think you could fix this?
